Gujarat University is 1920 in the minds of patriotic and noble people like Sardar Patel,Gandhi,Anand Shankar Dada Saheb Mavlankar,Acharya other B. Dhruva, Kasturbhai Lalbhai established and many others. However, Gujarat university can only be achieved after 1949, independence.In University Gujarat University Act, the government itself as a lesson and experience university affiliate.This was done as a measure of decentralization and reorganization of higher studies in the state of mumbai.
During his life more than 5 decades, the University saw the creation of seven universities that etching the jurisdiction of the University of Gujarat, ie.,Saurashtra University, Sardar Patel University,South Gujarat University, Bhavnagar University, Gujarat Ayurveda University,
North Gujarat University and Gujarat Agricultural University . Even then, Gujarat University, the largest university in the country, the needs of higher education for more than 2,00,000 candidates more than 235 colleges, 15 and 24 licensed accredited institutions. There are 34 academic departments and 221 Post Graduate Centres.
Gujarat University is a university with academic level are connected, while attending a postgraduate level. In fact, responsibility for PG legal education at the university, and therefore a coordinated plan for training developed under the direct control and supervision of the university to ensure effective and varied use.
